The Deer Friends.
A Tradition Unlike Any Other.
It started with one idea and one man: Reiley O'Connor. Fresh out of St. Lawrence University, Reiley watched as his closest college friends scattered across the country — Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Boston, Washington D.C., and Charlotte — and decided that distance was no reason to lose what they'd built together.
So in 2013, he called everyone back. One round of golf, one weekend, an unreasonable amount of fun, and the kind of drunkenness that can only be justified by how much you've missed each other. The SLOC was born.
We call ourselves the Deer Friends. We've traveled all throughout the Northeast chasing this tradition — Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York City, Boston, and deep into New York State. We have never missed a year. Not once. And we don't intend to start now. We hope this tradition lives on for years to come.
